Charles Allen Kemp elected as President of the Southern African Polygraph Federation

2018 Annual General Meeting of the Southern African Polygraph Federation SAPFED)

On 27 October 2018 the Southern African Polygraph Federation Annual General Meeting was hosted at the J’Cups guesthouse situated in Centurion. It was another successful event and a great opportunity to socialise, network, and most importantly to learn.

This year included three incredible guest speakers, specialists in their field who took the time to impart some of their specialist knowledge to polygraph examiners. Hannes Bezuidenhout, Riaan Bellingham and Estelle Naude talked about relevant modern day topics including ‘Admissions and Confessions in the Polygraph Environment,’ ‘Legal Implications of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) in the Polygraph Environment’ as well as ‘Cyber Crime’ including some of the interesting, sometimes scary, but always informative realities of the world of cybercrime and the complexities of collecting evidence in that investigative sphere.

A new Board of Directors were appointed, and we would like to congratulate the CEO of the PISA Integrity Assessment Centre; Mr Charles Allen Kemp on being appointed as the new President of the Southern African Polygraph Federation (SAPFED) as Mr Flip Vorster takes in his well-deserved place as Chairman of the Board. Also a big congratulations to the other appointed board members.

Mrs Amelia Griesel was elected as the Vice-President of the Southern African Polygraph Federation, Mr Anrich Gouws as the Director for Ethics and Standards, Mr Ben Lombaard as the Director for Training and Development, Mr Bertie Rautenbach as the Director of Finance and Membership, Mr Christian Porter as the Director of Policy and Legislation and Mr Gert Greyling as the Director of Administration.

It was another fantastic event signalling another stride forward for the polygraph profession in South Africa.
